Bad Moon Armory isn’t just another gun shop. We’re a Type 07 Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder. That means we’re licensed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to not only sell firearms but also build them. A Type 07 FFL is officially known as a “Manufacturer of Firearms Other Than Destructive Devices” license. In practical terms, it’s what allows us to manufacture, customize, and assemble complete firearms in-house for commercial sale.

Why does that matter?

Because it puts us in control of the entire build process. We can take a project from raw components to a finished, serialized firearm tailored to our customers’ exact wants and needs. It also gives us the ability to handle NFA items, like short-barreled rifles and suppressors, when paired with our Special Occupational Taxpayer (SOT) status. In other words, we’re not limited to what’s sitting on a distributor’s shelf. We can build what you actually want.

Compared to a standard Type 01 FFL, which only covers dealing and gunsmithing, a Type 07 offers far more flexibility and capability. It’s the license many serious builders and small manufacturers rely on to bring their ideas to life. For us, it’s the foundation that lets Bad Moon do more than sell guns. We create them.
