Stacking Bodies Since 1775: a Marine Corps Birthday Shirt
250 years of stacking bodies. Wear this badass Marine Corps birthday shirt featuring a battle-proven EGA. (Pants optional. YUT!)
Description
This Marine Corps birthday shirt features the USMC’s iconic emblem, the Eagle Globe and Anchor. This one has blood splattered on it and shell casings fallen around it, with the words STACKING BODIES SINCE 1775 below – a testament to a Marine’s extraordinary skill at making dead people out of live ones…whether they’re in cammies, civvies (including one of our Marine shirts), or stark nekkid.

This has proven to be one of our most popular military shirts yet.
Marine Corps Birthday Shirt
This isn’t just any gyrene tee. This short-sleeve Marine shirt design is an homage to the men and women who wear the EGA and all their predecessors going back 250 years…although, in fairness, the term “gyrene” wasn’t really used until the late 1800s, and even then, it first referred to the British Royal Marines. No one’s quite sure exactly when our jarheads started using the term “gyrene,” because, unfortunately, there’s no specific date to reference (unlike “Devil Dog,” or “Teufelhunden,” which was born from the Battle of Belleau Wood).

Stacking Bodies Since 1775
As for the whole stacking bodies thing, well…you could ask any of the many, many, many corpses the Marine Corps has piled up in its 250 years of service, but they all quit talking once they hit room temperature and rigor mortis set in. They’ve put America’s enemies in the ground all over the world, from Central America to the Maghreb, in Europe, Indo-China, all across the Pacific, the Balkans, the Far East, the Arabian Peninsula…you get the idea.
“The deadliest weapon in the world is a United States Marine and his rifle.” ~ Gen. John J. Pershing
Printed on a Bella Canvas 3001 Tee

Here’s some Marine trivia for you, Devil Dog or not. The first unofficial motto of the USMC was FORTITUDINE, which is Latin for With Fortitude or With Courage. Of course, nowadays the official motto is SEMPER FIDELIS (Always Faithful), but you have to admit, Fortitudine has a certain ring to it. And it probably looked pretty badass on the brass shako plates worn by the Marines of that era.
And you know Marines like to look good.
YUT!
Note: these particular graphic tees are printed on Bella Canvas 3001 t-shirts because they’re soft and comfy and sometimes make us feel funny, like when you climb the rope in gym class.
